1/12/08:  Princeton Library’s Environmental Film Festival Meetup!  Great short films and speakers! 

1/22/08:  Summit Green Drinks!  Up on the loft at Huntley Tavern, over 40 guests gathered for networking  & discussions.

1/19/08:  Orchard Farm Meetup!  CG Members Volunteered to work with fresh organic eggs and more! 

1/19/08:  Sourlands Hike Meetup!  Members braved the initial wet weather and shared a 3-5mile trek through the Hillsborough wilderness.

2/24/08:  West Orange Energy Diet Expo!  CG Organizers shared a great afternoon bringing awareness about our work to West Orange! 

2/28/08:  Kilowatt Ours Green Movie Meetup!  Mountain Lake’s Women’s League of Voters and CG teamed up to present this film and speaker Ed Schwartz of  Green Living Solutions!

3/9/08:  Awakening the Dreamer Symposium Meetup!  CG Members and friends of the Pachamama Alliance spent the day reflecting  on Environment, Social Justice, and Spiritual Fulfillment!

3/16/08:  Green Book Meetup!  CG Members met in Monclair for a lively discussion about “Animal Vegetable, Miracle” by Barbara Kingsolver.

3/29/08: Vegan Dinner Demo Meetup!  Members & guests met in Fairfield for a night of vegan cooking lessons with Chef Trish-Sebben Krupka.  Sponsors included Carl Schaedel, Whole Foods, VegNews and others!

4/12/08:  Hike to Tripod Rock Meetup!  Members take a favorite hike in New Jersey, the hike up Pyramid Mountain to Tripod Rock.

4/14/08:  CG at FDU’s Green Fest! A fun day outside where we got to meet students and other other local green vendors.

4/17/08:  Green “House Exhibit” @Morris Museum Meetup! Community Green visited The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture and Design Main Gallery.

4/19/08:  Earth Day at Lewis Morris Park!  We had fun photographing visitors pledging for the planet!

4/16/08:  CG at Rowan College’s Green Fest! Created by student CG Member Dana Bender, it was a great chance to see Rowan students as they look at green lifestyles.

4/23/08:  Gray Russell Meetup!  We shared a great evening with Gray hearing him talk about sustainable programs in Montclair, his home town.

4/24-27:  Global Green Expo!  Jonathan, Paul S, Ariane & Jen all greeted green minded people at our  booth along with allied organization “New Jersey Conservation Foundation”

4/27/08:  Project Earth!  As part of an Earth week Expo extravaganza, Community Green brought our programs to an Eco Fest at the Environmental Center in Bernards.

4/29/08:  Verizon Volunteer Expo! CG joins numerous other local non-profits in demonstrating volunteering opportunities for Verizon employees.

4/3/08: Twin Maples! Summit residents and other green minded NJ residents gathered for a discussion of the upcoming Green Showhouse in October.

5/2/08: Growing the Next Generation of Green Ventures at FDU!  This wonderful day long Sustainable Entrepreneurship Symposium & Expo had over 200 participants!

4/29/08:  Summit Fest! CG joined Summit Residents as they enjoyed learning how neighbors, local businesses, non-profits and city departments are working together to make their city green!

5/15/08:  Green Book Meetup - Ishmael! Daniel Quinn’s writings made for a rich philosophical and inspiring discussion at Cafe Eclectic in Montclair.

5/17/08:  Bernards Charter Day! Ariane, Rich,  Jen, Paul, Linda, 9 year old Phil & Codi (our Sheltie) had fun at the CG tent selling new “07920” Sigg water bottles and giving out wildflower seeds for honey bees!

5/18/08:  Veg Parade! CG, Veg News, North Jersey Vegetarian/Vegan Meetup and others enjoyed this first time parade in Greenwich Village.

The beverages aren't green in color, but there is a lively mix of environmental minded folks from all over NJ, so come along and you'll be made welcome. Join us as we host Menu for the Future, Northwest Earth Institute's newest course.  A FREE six-session course/discussion circle will take us on an expedition that explores our personal food choices: industrial vs. organic farming, additives, social impact, and more. This nationally-acclaimed, self-facilitated small-group format enables people to gather and discuss critical issues in a comfortable, informal setting.  

Discussion Course Goals:
• To explore food systems and their impacts on culture, society and ecological systems. 
• To gain insight into agricultural and individual practices that promote personal and ecological well-being. 
• To consider your role in creating or supporting sustainable food systems.

9/16/08:  CG Reads “The World Without US” Meetup! Members came back from a restful summer having read this fascinating nonfiction eco-thriller at Cafe Eclectic in Montclair.

9/24/08:  Bernards Green Drinks at the Marriott! Our Courtyard Marriott sponsored a wonderful outdoor Green Drinks and described their corporate commitment to being Green!

10/4/08:  Girl Scouts EcoTrek! CG joined the Girl Scouts in Kinnelon for a day of Eco demonstrations and “Pledging for the Planet”. 

10/8/08:  “Menu for the Future” Meetup! The first of six sessions kicked off at the Basking Ridge Library with lively conversation and interesting personal stories about food in our lives. 

10/3/08:  ANJEC’s Environmental Congress! CG Directors sat in on great speakers including: Lisa Jackson of NJDEP, David Gershon of “Low Carbon Diet” and others who’ve made a green impact in NJ. 

10/25/08:  “Willow School Tour” Meetup! School Co-Founder, Mark Biedron, hosted over 30 CG members for a phenomenal in depth talk & tour of this innovative curriculum and property.

10/29/08:  “Bernards Green Drink @ Dolce” Meetup! Another great turnout and inspiring local business.  Dolce was a generous host and showed guests how green can be stylish and good business.
